Night Music Plays To A Full House For The Last Time

Sunday saw the last ever performance of A Little Night Music at the Menier Chocolate Factory; a momentous occassion indeed.

As per usual the cast all performed superbly, delivering the comic lines with extra panache.

There was a distinct atmosphere in the theatre on Sunday - one of excitement knowing that in exactly 20 days time the show would be opening on the West End and also one of slight sadness with the show being over at the brilliantly intimate south London venue.

All the cast recieved rapturous rounds of applause for their songs and a standing ovation at the end.

After the curtain call Maureen Lipman said a few words and flowers were given to the members of the cast who were leaving. The cast also announced they would be taking donations to Comic Relief in the foyer/bar-area afterwards and rumour has it they collected just over £1500 for charity. It may have had something to do with certain red noses or Gabriel Vick amusingly declaring that it would be £20 per photo with Jessie.

It's the end of an era but on to bigger and better things for Jessie. So glad you were able to be there Katie. I'm sure Jessie appreciates your support and dedication.

Thanks Katie!
Another standing ovation & what a memorable performance it was on sunday.
Reminded of 'that' quote again,
'...no where quite like the Chocolate Factory...the bubbliest kid on the block and one of London's greatest theatre hopes'. Very fitting for a superb debut Jessie-it's only just begun.
